While the almond is often eaten raw or toasted, it is also a component of various dishes. Almonds are the base ingredient of Mughalai style curries. Almond flakes are added to many sweets such as Sohan Barfi and are usually visible sticking to the outer surface. Badam Halwa is a sweet made from almonds. Along with other nuts, almonds can be sprinkled over breakfasts and desserts, particularly muesli or ice cream based dishes.
