THE FIRANGI STORY
A traveler from Europe lands up a small artisanal village in western Rajasthan where they are spinning a traditional handloom and creating vibrant patterns on a fabric through complicated “coding”, similar to a computer code which, when compiled, outputs a particular shape, colour or a design. This traveler who also happens to be a computer programmer joins hands with the locals to create a backpack that is a striking amalgamation of sophisticated European design with a vibrancy of Indian ethnic fabrics. This is a story of our new series of bags we named – The Firangi. The Firangi series comes in two variants – Backpack and Messenger Bag.
Made from 100% cotton canvas, this backpack sticks to our no-plastic policy yet maintains the strength and durability of synthetic fibers used in typical bags these days.
Faux-leather highlights and finishing.
Brass coated fittings for fasteners, mount-hooks and magnetic buttons on the main straps.
This decorative handloom called Durrie is indigenous to Rajasthan and was used as a means of surviving in harsh desert climate as it keeps warm in winters and cold in summers. The traditional weave pattern brings out the nostalgia of India during Raj and yet blends well with even the most modern urban backdrops. The entire flap area is a zipper pocket for contents that need to be quickly accessed.
You don’t have to flash your dirty laundry every time you reach out for your laptop at a public place like a cafe. This backpack features a dedicated top-loading laptop compartment that can be quickly accessed without having to open the bag at all. This makes airport security checks a breeze too. It has a foam padding all around and can secure laptops of upto 17″.
15 litres of main storage where your daily use utilities can be housed comfortably but thanks to various pockets on the front and side to keep lose items, it can also be freed up for 5-6 pairs of clothes if you want to take your Firangi out on a trip. Additionally, 3 pockets on the front keeps your knick-knacks oragnized.
HOOKS & MOUNTS
There are two brass hooks on the side and two on the shoulder straps. Mount your Swiss knife, sunglasses, hat or even a GoPro here. Smart packing is a skill and this backpack maxes out on the same.
